We’re doctors, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, ultrasound techs, medical assistants, surgical techs, estheticians, administrators, and more — the fantastic team at Meadows Surgical Arts is made up of hardworking, talented individuals with interesting stories to tell. In our Spotlight & Special blog series, you’ll meet some of these people, learn what they do (on and off the clock), and how passionate they are about what they do.
SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT ON MACKENZIE PICKETT
Mackenzie Pickett is our wonderful Ultrasound Technologist at Meadows Surgical Arts.
HOW DID YOU GET YOUR JOB AT MEADOWS SURGICAL ARTS?
My incredible good looks and fabulous sense of humor. Just kidding! I applied online.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT WORKING AT MSA?
My coworkers, for sure. Everyone gets along so well and helps each other out which makes “work” not feel so much like “work.”
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR PARTICULAR ROLE AT MSA?
Helping patients and being able to follow up with them. When I worked at the hospital, I would scan patients, but would never get the chance to follow up with them. At Meadows Surgical Arts, I have the time and the opportunity to build rapport with each patient. It is immensely gratifying to be able to give patients answers, assist in creating an action plan to help alleviate their pain and/or issues, and follow up with them after their treatments.
WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF YOUR ROLE?
My least favorite part about working as an Ultrasound Technologist is finding abnormalities (the bad stuff) while scanning.
IF YOU COULD SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT ROLE AT MSA, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
If I could switch roles, I would be in marketing. Prior to completing my ultrasound training, I studied marketing and journalism in college. I’ve always loved marketing. I am passionate about MSA, and I want to help everyone. I believe marketing is the best way to spread the word about the services we offer in order to help our patients achieve their aesthetic goals and optimal health. Marketing is an always changing and growing field, and I love social media, so I feel that I would be a good fit for something like that.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SKINCARE PRODUCTS?
My daily skin care routine consists of: Revision Intellishade, Nectifirm Advanced, Revision Revox-7 (it’s like liquid Botox, y’all), DEJ Night Face Cream (time released retinol is amazing for my super sensitive skin) and Revision Hydrating Serum.
ARE THERE ANY TREATMENTS OR SURGERIES THAT ARE YOUR FAVORITES?
Botox is definitely my favorite treatment. Botox has “cured my RBF!” I also love Dr. Meadows’ medical weight loss program. I am currently down 25 lbs. on this program! I am hoping to lose another 30 lbs. or so.
WHAT IS AN INTERESTING THING ABOUT YOU THAT NOT EVERYONE KNOWS?
I am obsessed with sports (especially the Florida Gators) and Christmas! I can talk football ‘til I’m blue in the face, and I am one of those people who have their Christmas tree up at the beginning of October.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT AT WORK?
I like to hang out with friends and family, spend time on Lake Lanier, spoil my adorable dog, Cooper, and just relax.
